Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Family Center Project Group (Director: Professor Yun Myeong-suk), which operates the Jeonju City Family Center (Director: Lee Hae-gyeong), announced on the 9th that, with support from JB Financial Group (Jeonbuk Bank), it successfully ran a hands-on career exploration camp for elementary students from multicultural families titled 'Dada Camp for Colorful and Diverse Cultural Experiences.'

This Dada Camp was planned with the core value of 'acknowledging differences, embracing one another, and embarking on a journey to pursue dreams.' It was structured to enable children from diverse cultural backgrounds to understand and cooperate with one another through community activities, and to build self-efficacy and social skills.

Participants began with group team-building activities and took part in a range of experiential programs that combined play and education, including 'Creating a City of Dreams' to visualize their dreams, LEGO and mission-based cooperative programs, sports activities integrating AI technology, self-defense experiences tailored for elementary students, laser survival and lively physical activities, QR mission-based collaborative projects, cultural performances and recreation, and guest lectures from YouTubers and science entrepreneurs.

In particular, the camp was praised for balancing hands-on experiential activities with programs for self-understanding and dream exploration, providing children with an opportunity to move beyond one-off experiences to better understand themselves and others and to envision their futures.

The Jeonju City Family Center hopes that through the camp, multicultural and foreign children will recognize cultural differences as strengths and grow into healthy members of the local community based on the values of cooperation and respect. The center also plans to continue expanding local community-based social contribution programs in cooperation with JB Financial Group (Jeonbuk Bank).

Lee Hae-gyeong, Director of the Jeonju City Family Center, said, 'Thanks to the generous support of JB Financial Group (Jeonbuk Bank), the children were able to participate in the camp in a safer and more enriching environment. This Dada Camp was a valuable time for the children to gain experiences of growing together beyond mere "difference." We will continue to work with the local community to make Jeonju a city where diverse families can thrive.'

Meanwhile, the Jeonju City Family Center will continue to expand tailored education, experiential, and exchange programs for multicultural families, foreign residents, and children and youth through cooperation with local institutions and companies, and will strive to build an inclusive local community.
