Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Jeonbuk Environmental Health Center (Director Kim Yong-hyun; hereinafter the Environmental Health Center), which has been working to expand local awareness of environmental health, held the completion ceremony for its First Environmental Health Supporters on February 10 (Tuesday) at Jisandang, Jeonbuk National University.

The Environmental Health Center operated the First Environmental Health Supporters with the goal of raising residents' awareness of environmental health and promoting practical action. A total of five supporters completed the program at the ceremony. The event included time to share the results of their activities to date and to commend the supporters for their efforts.

During the activity period, the First Environmental Health Supporters contributed to spreading regional environmental health awareness by supporting and participating in the Center's major events, producing card news, providing environmental health information, and carrying out various promotional and practical activities.

Director Kim Yong-hyun said, 'The First Environmental Health Supporters led environmental health practices in the field.' He added, 'I thank the supporters for carrying out their duties with responsibility over a substantial period, and I hope this experience will lead to continued interest and participation in the field of environmental health.'

Student Park Se-hyun, who served as a supporter, commented, 'Participating in the Environmental Health Supporters activities gave me an opportunity to reconsider the importance of the environment and health. Although the actions were small, it was a meaningful time to be part of creating positive change in the local community.'

Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk Provincial Environmental Health Center plans to continue expanding community-participation environmental health programs based on the outcomes of the First Supporters' activities, and will continue efforts to raise residents' environmental health awareness and to promote a culture of practical action.
