Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) held the 'Jeonbuk High School Career and College Guidance Department Heads Workshop' on the 10th to promote the stable implementation of the high school credit system, respond to the 2028 university admissions reform, and strengthen cooperation with high schools to cultivate regional talent.

The workshop was organized to further strengthen JBNU's field‑based communication with local high schools. Earlier this year JBNU launched an advisory panel on university admissions consisting of 43 members, including education office supervisors and high school teachers, as part of its efforts to prepare fair and trusted admissions procedures.

The event, hosted by the Office of Admission at JBNU, was attended by department heads in charge of career and college guidance at local high schools. They shared the university's admissions information and conveyed candid perspectives from the educational field.

The workshop provided detailed information on core matters to prepare for the rapidly changing admissions environment, including the 2025 high school–university linkage programs, analysis of the 2026 admissions results, plans for the 2027 selection procedures, and the direction of university admissions for 2028.

In particular, amid major changes in the educational environment such as the full implementation of the high school credit system and the 2028 university admissions reform, the workshop was significant in that the university and high schools reaffirmed their shared goal of 'student growth' and sought practical cooperation measures.

Attending high school teachers listened attentively to the university's explanations and candidly presented various opinions on the difficulties they encounter in the college counseling process and on improvements to university admissions procedures.

The teachers evaluated the workshop as 'a beneficial time to enhance understanding of JBNU's overall university admissions procedures.'

Ahn Jeong‑yong, Vice‑President of the Office of Admission at JBNU, said, 'Teachers who devote themselves on the front lines of educational change are the most important partners in shaping students' futures,' adding, 'We will continue to strengthen high school–university linkages through ongoing field‑based communication and enhance the fairness and credibility of university admissions procedures.'

Meanwhile, JBNU is continuously expanding its engagement with high school communities through various programs, including visiting high school briefings, major exploration lectures, and the operation of high school and education office advisory panels. Through these efforts, the university is actively pursuing a 'demand‑driven admissions policy' that goes beyond mere student selection and engages in close dialogue with high school practitioners.
